Air Fryer Honey Garlic Chicken Bites (Sticky & Crispy)

Serves: 3–4 | Prep Time: 10 min | Cook Time: 12–15 min | Total Time: 25 min

Intro:

These air fryer honey garlic chicken bites are crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and coated in a sticky-sweet garlic sauce that makes them impossible to stop eating. They’re quick enough for weeknights, fun enough for game day, and perfect over rice, noodles, or with dipping sides.

Why This Works:

Air frying gives the chicken a crispy exterior and tossing it in the honey garlic sauce afterward keeps it sticky without losing crunch.

Ingredients:

  • 2 chicken breasts, cut into bite-size pieces
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional garnish: sesame seeds
  • Optional garnish: sliced green onions

Kitchen Tools Needed:

Prep:

  1. Cut chicken into even bite-size pieces
  2. Mince garlic
  3. Pat chicken dry if needed so it crisps better
  4. Preheat air fryer if your model requires it

Instructions:

  1. Add chicken pieces to a mixing bowl
  2. Toss chicken with oil, salt, and pepper until evenly coated
  3. Place chicken in the air fryer basket in a single layer
  4. Air fry at 390°F for 10–12 minutes, shaking halfway through, until chicken is cooked through and lightly crispy
  5. While chicken cooks, add honey, garlic, and soy sauce to a small saucepan
  6. Simmer sauce for 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened
  7. Transfer cooked chicken to a bowl
  8. Toss chicken in the honey garlic sauce until fully coated
  9. Garnish with sesame seeds and/or green onions if using
  10. Serve immediately

Notes:

  • Don’t overcrowd the air fryer basket or the chicken will steam instead of crisp
  • Cook in batches if needed
  • Add red pepper flakes or sriracha for heat
  • Serve over rice for an easy meal

Check that chicken reaches 165°F internally

Quick Tip

Toss the chicken in the sauce after air frying, not before. That keeps the outside crisp and the sauce glossy.
