Prep
- Cut chicken into even bite-size pieces
- Mince garlic
- Pat chicken dry if needed so it crisps better
- Preheat air fryer if your model requires it
Instructions
- Add chicken pieces to a mixing bowl
- Toss chicken with oil, salt, and pepper until evenly coated
- Place chicken in the air fryer basket in a single layer
- Air fry at 390°F for 10–12 minutes, shaking halfway through, until chicken is cooked through and lightly crispy
- While chicken cooks, add honey, garlic, and soy sauce to a small saucepan
- Simmer sauce for 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened
- Transfer cooked chicken to a bowl
- Toss chicken in the honey garlic sauce until fully coated
- Garnish with sesame seeds and/or green onions if using
- Serve immediately
Notes
- Don’t overcrowd the air fryer basket or the chicken will steam instead of crisp
- Cook in batches if needed
- Add red pepper flakes or sriracha for heat
- Serve over rice for an easy meal
- Check that chicken reaches 165°F internally
