Air Fryer Champagne Battered Onion Rings

These crispy champagne battered onion rings are light, crunchy, and packed with restaurant-style flavor while still being made easily in the air fryer.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 large onions cut into thick rings
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1 cup champagne very cold
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • Cooking spray

Method
 

Prep
  1. Slice onions thick (about 1/2 inch)
  2. Separate onion rings carefully
  3. Pat onions dry well
  4. Keep champagne cold until mixing
Instructions
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, cornstarch, salt, and garlic powder.
  2. Slowly whisk in the cold champagne until batter becomes smooth and slightly thick.
  3. Preheat air fryer to 375°F.
  4. Lightly spray air fryer basket with cooking spray.
  5. Dip onion rings into batter and allow excess batter to drip off.
  6. Place onion rings in a single layer inside the basket.
  7. Lightly spray tops with cooking spray.
  8. Air fry for 5–6 minutes.
  9. Carefully flip onion rings.
  10. Spray lightly again.
  11. Cook another 4–6 minutes until golden and crispy.
  12. Serve immediately for best texture.

Notes

• Cold champagne helps create a crispier coating.
• Do not overcrowd the basket or the onion rings may steam instead of crisp.
• Work in batches for best results.
