Prep
- Freeze mozzarella sticks for at least 1 hour
- Set up breading station:
- Bowl 1: flour
- Bowl 2: beaten egg
- Bowl 3: breadcrumbs + garlic powder + salt + pepper
Instructions
- Coat mozzarella sticks in flour
- Dip into egg
- Roll in breadcrumbs (press firmly so it sticks)
- Repeat egg + breadcrumbs for a double coating
- Place coated sticks in air fryer basket in a single layer
- Air fry at 390°F for 6–8 minutes until golden
- Watch closely so they don’t burst
- Serve immediately with marinara or ranch
Notes
- Freezing is KEY to prevent cheese from melting too fast
- Double coating = better crunch and less leaking
- Don’t overcrowd the basket
- If cheese starts leaking, pull them immediately
- Serve right away for best texture
