Air Fryer Panko Crusted Shrimp

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb large shrimp peeled & deveined, tails optional
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Cooking spray or oil spray

Equipment

  • Air fryer
  • 3 Mixing bowls
  • Tongs
  • Baking tray or plate

Method
 

Prep
  1. Pat shrimp very dry (this is key for crispiness)
  2. Set up 3 bowls:
  3. Bowl 1: Flour
  4. Bowl 2: Beaten eggs
  5. Bowl 3: Panko + seasoning
Instructions
  1. Coat Shrimp
  2. Dredge shrimp in flour (light coat)
  3. Dip into egg
  4. Press into panko (coat fully, press it on)
  5. Place on tray
  6. ๐Ÿ‘‰ Do NOT stack (coating will fall off)
Air Fry
  1. Preheat air fryer to 400ยฐF
  2. Lightly spray shrimp with oil
  3. Place in basket in a single layer
  4. Cook 4โ€“5 minutes
  5. Flip shrimp
  6. Spray lightly again
  7. Cook another 3โ€“5 minutes
  8. ๐Ÿ‘‰ Shrimp should be golden and crispy
Finish
  1. Remove immediately (donโ€™t let them sit in basket)

Notes

  • Donโ€™t overcrowd the air fryer โ€” shrimp will steam instead of crisp
  • Always spray before AND after flipping for best texture
  • Use large shrimp โ€” small ones overcook fast
  • Serve immediately for maximum crunch
