PREP:
- Cut potatoes into even fry-sized strips
- Place in a bowl of cold water and soak 10–15 minutes (removes starch)
- Drain and dry thoroughly with paper towels (this step is critical)
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Add dried fries back to a bowl
- Drizzle oil evenly over fries
- Add paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper
- Toss until evenly coated
- Preheat air fryer to 395°F (if your model requires it)
- Place fries in basket in a single layer (do NOT overcrowd)
- Air fry for 15–20 minutes
- Shake basket halfway through cooking
- Cook longer if needed for extra crispiness
- Remove and serve immediately
Notes
- Drying fries well = key to crispiness
- Don’t overcrowd or fries will steam instead of crisp
- Cook in batches if needed
- Add parmesan or chili flakes for variation
- Best served immediately
