Prep:
- Trim green beans
- Dice onion
- Mince garlic
- Chop bacon
Instructions:
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat
- Add chopped bacon and cook until it starts releasing fat and crisping
- Add diced onion and cook 3–4 minutes until softened
- Add garlic and cook 30 seconds
- Season with salt and pepper
- Add green beans and toss in the bacon fat
- Pour in 1/4 cup water
- Cover and let steam 6–8 minutes until tender
- Remove lid and cook off any excess water
- Add butter and toss until melted and coated
- Serve hot
Notes
- Don’t over-steam—keep a slight bite to the beans
- Bacon fat + butter = big flavor
- Great with steak, chicken, or holiday meals
