Cucumber Gin Spritz

Prep Time 5 minutes
Course: cocktails
Cuisine: American, contemporary

Ingredients

  • 2 oz gin
  • 3 –4 fresh cucumber slices
  • 1/2 oz fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 oz simple syrup adjust to taste
  • Club soda to top
  • Ice
Optional:
  • Splash of elderflower liqueur
  • Honey syrup instead of simple syrup
  • Fresh mint leaves
  • Extra lime wedge

Equipment

  • Cocktail glass
  • Muddler (or spoon)
  • Jigger or measuring tool
  • Bar spoon
  • Chef's knife
  • Cutting Board

Method

Prep:
  1. Slice cucumber fresh right before making the cocktail for the cleanest flavor.
  2. Chill the glass beforehand for an extra refreshing drink.
  3. Roll lime on the counter before cutting to release more juice.
Instructions:
  1. Add cucumber slices to the glass.
  2. Lightly muddle the cucumber — don’t crush it into mush. You want fresh flavor, not bitterness.
  3. Fill the glass with ice.
  4. Pour in the gin.
  5. Add fresh lime juice and simple syrup.
  6. Stir gently to combine.
  7. Top with club soda.
  8. Give one final light stir and garnish before serving.

Notes

  • Taste before topping with club soda so you can adjust sweetness or lime levels first.
  • If it tastes too sweet, squeeze in more lime juice.
  • Use good fresh cucumbers — older soft cucumbers lose that crisp refreshing flavor.
  • Don’t over-muddle or the cucumber can become bitter.
