Easy Zatarain’s Shrimp Boil

This easy Zatarain’s shrimp boil is a bold, flavorful one-pot seafood dinner packed with shrimp, sausage, potatoes, and corn. It’s simple enough for weeknight dinners but fun enough for parties, cookouts, and game day gatherings.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 lb smoked sausage sliced
  • 4 red or yellow potatoes quartered
  • 2 ears corn cut into thirds
  • 2 tbsp Zatarain’s Liquid Crab Boil
  • 1/2 cup Zatarain’s Dry Crab Boil seasoning
  • Optional: lemon wedges
  • Optional: melted butter for serving

Equipment

  • Large stock pot
  • Slotted spoon or fryer scoop
  • Cutting Board
  • Chef's knife
  • Small sauce pan optional for butter

Method
 

Prep
  1. Quarter potatoes
  2. Cut corn into thirds
  3. Slice sausage
  4. Peel and devein shrimp if needed
  5. Fill large pot with water about 8 inches above vegetables
Instructions
  1. Add potatoes and corn to a large pot of water.
  2. Stir in Zatarain’s Liquid Crab Boil and dry seasoning.
  3. Bring to a boil over high heat.
  4. Cook potatoes and corn for 12–15 minutes until fork tender.
  5. Add sliced sausage and cook for 5 minutes.
  6. Add shrimp and cook 2–3 minutes until pink.
  7. Turn off heat immediately and allow everything to soak for 5 minutes.
  8. Use a slotted spoon or fryer scoop to remove everything from the pot.
  9. Optional: Serve with melted butter and fresh lemon wedges.

Notes

  • Shrimp cook very quickly, so avoid overcooking.
  • For a fun presentation, dump everything onto parchment paper or a serving tray.
  • Use less seasoning if sensitive to spice.
  • Add cayenne pepper during soaking for extra heat.
  • Leftovers are great reheated with butter in a skillet.
