Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb sirloin steak or flank steak thinly sliced against the grain
  • 2 cups cooked jasmine rice
  • 1 tbsp avocado oil or olive oil
  • 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp honey or brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • Optional garnish: sliced green onions sesame seeds, red pepper flakes

Method
 

Prep
  1. Slice steak thinly against the grain
  2. Mince garlic
  3. Cook rice if not already prepared
  4. Slice green onions for garnish
Instructions
  1. Heat a skillet over medium-high to high heat until very hot.
  2. Add oil and place steak in a single layer. Avoid overcrowding the pan.
  3. Sear steak for 2–3 minutes until browned and lightly crispy on the edges.
  4. Remove steak from skillet and set aside.
  5. Lower heat slightly and add butter, garlic, sesame oil, and honey. Stir for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  6. Add soy sauce and simmer for 1 minute.
  7. Return steak to the skillet and toss quickly in the sauce.
  8. Serve hot over rice.
  9. Garnish with green onions, sesame seeds, or red pepper flakes if desired.

Notes

  • Sirloin, flank steak, or ribeye all work well.
  • Slice steak thinly for the most tender texture.
  • Use leftover rice for even faster prep.
  • Add broccoli, snap peas, or peppers for extra vegetables.
