Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/2 tsp ginger optional
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp water
  • Optional garnish: green onions sesame seeds

Method
 

Prep:
  1. Mince garlic
  2. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, and ginger
  3. In a separate small bowl, mix cornstarch with water (slurry)
Instructions:
  1. Cook ground beef in skillet over medium heat
  2. Break apart and cook until fully browned
  3. Drain excess grease
  4. Add sauce mixture and stir well
  5. Simmer 2–3 minutes
  6. Add cornstarch slurry and stir
  7. Cook until sauce thickens (1–2 minutes)
  8. Remove from heat and garnish
  9. Serve over rice

Notes

  • Add red pepper flakes for heat
  • Great for meal prep
  • Serve with steamed broccoli for balance
  • Sauce thickens more as it cools
