If you want crispy fries without deep frying, this air fryer version is the move. These seasoned fries come out golden, crunchy, and full of flavor with just a few simple ingredients.

Serves: 3–4 | Prep Time: 15 minutes | Cook Time: 20 minutes | Total Time: 35 minutes
Why This Works:
Soaking removes excess starch and drying thoroughly allows the fries to crisp up in the air fryer while staying soft inside.
Ingredients:
- 3–4 russet potatoes, cut into fries
- 1–2 tbsp oil (olive or vegetable)
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional garnish: fresh chopped parsley
Kitchen Tools:
- Air fryer
- Knife
- Cutting board
- Mixing bowl
- Paper towels
Prep:
- Cut potatoes into even fry-sized strips
- Place in a bowl of cold water and soak 10–15 minutes (removes starch)
- Drain and dry thoroughly with paper towels (this step is critical)
Instructions:
- Add dried fries back to a bowl
- Drizzle oil evenly over fries
- Add paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper
- Toss until evenly coated
- Preheat air fryer to 395°F (if your model requires it)
- Place fries in basket in a single layer (do NOT overcrowd)
- Air fry for 15–20 minutes
- Shake basket halfway through cooking
- Cook longer if needed for extra crispiness
- Remove and serve immediately
Notes:
- Drying fries well = key to crispiness
- Don’t overcrowd or fries will steam instead of crisp
- Cook in batches if needed
- Add parmesan or chili flakes for variation
- Best served immediately
