Smash Burger Sliders on Hawaiian Rolls

These smash burger sliders are juicy, cheesy, buttery, and packed with bold burger flavor. Crispy smashed beef, melty cheddar, and soft Hawaiian rolls make these sliders an easy crowd favorite for game day, parties, or quick family dinners.

Ingredients
  

For the Sliders
  • 1 1/2 lbs ground beef 80/20 recommended
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp yellow mustard
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 12 Hawaiian rolls
  • 6 slices cheddar cheese halved
  • 1 tbsp butter melted
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds optional
Burger Sauce
  • 1/2 cup mayo
  • 1 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tsp mustard
  • 1 tsp pickle juice
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika

Equipment

  • Cast iron skillet or flat-top griddle
  • Spatula
  • Mixing bowl
  • Baking sheet or over-safe pan
  • Pastry brush

Method
 

Prep
  1. Mix ground beef with Worcestershire sauce, mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
  2. Slice Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally.
  3. Mix burger sauce ingredients together.
  4. Preheat skillet or flat top over medium-high heat.
Instructions
  1. Roll beef mixture into 12 small meat balls.
  2. Place meat balls onto hot skillet and smash thin with a spatula.
  3. Cook 2–3 minutes until crispy edges form.
  4. Flip and immediately top with cheese.
  5. Cook another 1–2 minutes until cheese melts.
  6. Spread burger sauce onto bottom half of Hawaiian rolls.
  7. Layer sliders onto rolls and add pickles or onions if desired.
  8. Brush tops with melted butter and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  9. Bake at 350°F for 5–7 minutes until warm and slightly toasted.
  10. Slice and serve hot.

Notes

  • Use 80/20 beef for the juiciest sliders.
  • Don’t overcrowd the skillet or the burgers will steam instead of crisp.
  • Hawaiian rolls add the perfect sweet-and-savory balance.
